SUBSTANCE: domestic electric appliance is intended for treatment of surface and represents a vacuum cleaner. Domestic electric appliance comprises the main body, which may move between vertical and inclined positions, cleaning nozzle and support unit, which may move between support position, when it supports the main body, and retracted position, when it is located on the main body. Domestic appliance comprises actuating mechanism for changeover of support unit into retracted position as the main body is inclined by user. Actuating mechanism is arranged with the possibility to bring support unit into support position as user returns the main body into vertical position. Taking support unit out of support position is done by pressing of controlled pedal by user. When it is not required to increase maneuverability and range of electric appliance motion in process of use, support unit is placed on the main body of electric appliance, which helps to increase compactness of electric appliance as support unit is in retracted position, elimination of support unit elements contact with fibres or threads of cleaned carpet and provides for smoother motion of appliance on carpet.
