FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of continuous sedimentation centrifuging and device to this end. This invention can be used in metallurgy, chemistry and other industrial processes of dehydrating thin fine-dispersion suspension to separate suspensions by gravity forces. Proposed method comprises feeding suspension into centrifuge and removing effluent by screw conveyor and differs in that suspension into radial cup while cup bottom sediment is forced towards centrifugal force vector along cup axis to cup center of rotation by screw conveyor via channel submerged in said cup. Proposed device comprises housing, sedimentation rotor, screw conveyor to unload sediment. Note here that sedimentation rotor represents vertical cylinder jointed with at least two sedimentation cups arranged in symmetry about axis perpendicular to said cylinder. Screw conveyor is arranged inside each cup fitted in cylindrical jacket. One end of said jacket can be arranged in sediment while the other one is jointed with sediment unloading chamber arranged inside rotor.
EFFECT: reliable and simple design, high efficiency of sedimentation of solid particles.
