FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device is intended for entrapping and withdrawing electric arc furnace gases. Proposed device comprises air duct mounted above furnace roof, exhaust hood and guide appliance. Said guide device represents hollow cone and heatproof elastic screen secured to said roof, said elastic screen representing cylinder arranged on lower base of said hollow cone. Said screen is mounted with circular clearance around furnace hearth. Equal-pitch screw chute are arranged on exhaust hood inner conical surfaces and hollow-cone guide appliance. Angle of cone between exhaust hood cross section generating lines equals that between guide line cross section generating lines to that between generating lines of cone formed by screw lines of screw chute inner edges. Guide appliance outer conical surface fairs with exhaust hood inner conical surface along the length of guide appliance hollow truncated cone.

EFFECT: ease of servicing, withdrawal of flue gases, ruling out of combustion product accumulation on guide appliance and exhaust hood.
