FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for increasing wear resistance of finishing rail pass in rolling railway rails. Proposed method comprises rolling rough sections in two-roll or three-roll grooves, rolling pre-finishing section in two-roll or three-roll grooves, rolling finishing section in two-roll, three-roll or four-roll grooves, shaping section neck and head thickness in finishing grooves of solely horizontal roll passes irrespective of groove type. Section neck thickness is calculated allowing for negative tolerance, while section head is determined allowing for positive tolerance from mathematical relationships.
EFFECT: wider range of compensating wear of groove fast-wear element, that is, neck, higher stability of rolling, reduced consumption of metal.
