FIELD: rolled metal production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of rolling railway rails. Rolling of the workpiece is carried out in a continuously reversible group of mills consisting of two universal four-high and an auxiliary two-high mill between them, as well as in a three-high universal finishing mill. Rolling in the mills of the continuously reversible group and the finishing mill is carried out in calibers with a double slope of the inner faces of the base flange. In the finishing caliber, the vertical distance from the neck surface to the point of intersection of these faces is determined by the size of the finished profile, and a similar distance in the calibers of the continuously reversible group is set greater than in the finishing caliber by the amount calculated mathematically, depending on the broadening of the neck in the finishing caliber, the magnitude of the angles of inclination of the inner faces of the flanges of the base of the rail and the accepted gap between the inner face of the rolling flange adjacent to the end of the rail and the horizontal roll of the finishing mill at the time of metal capture by the rollers.
EFFECT: geometry of the profile is improved and the surface defects of rails are reduced.
