FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for electrochemical purification of water and can be used to design devices for electrochemical purification of water for apartments, offices, medical institutions, catering facilities etc. The method for electrochemical purification of drinking water involves treatment using a packet of parallel aluminium anodes, removal of coagulant after raising to the mouth of the reactor and filtration of water. After the electrochemical treatment process and settling, a plunger is used to create pressure on the surface of the coagulant raised onto the surface of the treated water. The plunger is immersed into the reactor while ensuring movement of the raised coagulant from the region where pressure is first applied to the periphery, raising the coagulant on the periphery to a level higher than its initial level and releasing the coagulant from the reactor through holes lying higher than the level at which the treated water is discharged. After releasing the coagulant from the reactor, the plunger is extracted and treated water is discharged a filtering container through a socket piece lying in the bottom part of the container.

EFFECT: more efficient removal of coarse and fine-grained suspensions, product residues of organic compounds and coagulant raised to the mouth of the reactor, as well as reduced flow rate of treated water when releasing the coagulant from the reactor container and simplification of the process of removing the coagulant.
