APPARATUS FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL PURIFICATION OF SWEET WATER Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for electrochemical purification of sweet water under home conditions, as well as in public enterprises, such as public catering, medicinal and children enterprises, and offices.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has electrode unit arranged in separate casing and including packet of parallel stainless steel cathodes and electric coagulation anodes manufactured from aluminum alloys and axially arranged between cathodes, and electric flotation anodes made from high wear- resistance material, such as platinum, graphite, carbon, or titanium coated with ruthenium or cobalt oxide layer. Electric coagulation anodes are connected with power source through commutation device allowing polarity thereof to be altered. Electrode unit is provided with inlet branch pipe arranged in its lower part, and with transition branch pipe arranged in its upper part and adapted for connecting electrode unit with sludge collecting vessel. Sludge collector is fixed on upper part of reactor, which is provided with opening formed in its upper part. Reverse cone-shaped floatable cover is mounted in said opening for displacement in vertical plane. Reactor is equipped in its lower part with branch pipe for draining of clear water.

EFFECT: improved physicochemical and organoleptical properties of sweet water.
