FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of rubber and more specifically to a butyl rubber synthesis method. Butyl rubber synthesis in accordance with the method involves preparation of a catalyst solution. The catalyst - aluminium chloride, is protonated with water. The catalyst solution to be used in the method is prepared as follows: 1) After loading or additionally loading aluminium chloride into a dissolving apparatus, the aluminium chloride is first brought into contact with chloromethyl containing 0.0005-0.0012 wt % water. 2) The obtained solution is poured out without using copolymerisation in the process. 3) Aluminium chloride is then brought into contact with methylchloride containing 0.0020-0.0050 wt % water for 24-72 hours in the reactor. The saturated aluminium chloride solution formed at step (3) is then taken for copolymerisation with dilution in a stream of chloromethyl. Further preparation of the aluminium chloride solution takes place by constantly feeding chloromethyl containing 0.0005-0.0050 wt % water into the dissolving apparatus at volume rate of 0.05-0.4 h-1.
EFFECT: without additional materials and power consumption, the method increases catalyst activity and duration of operation of polymerisation apparatus and also enables operation at high concentration of the polymer and increases rubber output.
