FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the production of butyl rubber. Method includes the preparation of a charge from isobutylene, isoprene and recycled products, the preparation of a catalyst solution of aluminum chloride in chloromethyl, copolymerization of the charge in several parallel reactors in the presence of a catalyst solution of aluminum chloride in chloromethyl, degassing of rubber, its averaging, drying on machines of extrusion type and briquetting, processing of non-polymerized monomers and diluent. Temperature of chloromethyl fed to the reactor for catalyst preparation is kept from minus 32 °C to minus 20 °C. Residence time of the catalyst solution before polymerization is 4÷8 hours.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the activity of the catalyst with respect to isoprene polymerization, to increase the running time of the polymerizers and to produce rubber without deteriorating the quality of the finished product.
