FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves mixture preparation from isobutylene, isoprene and returned products, mixture copolymerisation of the in a medium of a diluent - methyl chloride in several reactors working in parallel in the presence of an aluminium chloride catalyst, rubber degassing, remaining monomers and diluent processing methyl chloride, averaging, ready polymer drying on extrusion-type machines, and briquetting. Copolymerization process is carried out in the presence of a catalyst complex of the following composition: AlCl3⋅H2O⋅CnH2n+1X⋅C6H5 CRR'X, where R=H, R'=CnH2n+1 or R=R'=H, or R=R'=CnH2n+1, where n≥1 and X=Cl, Br, wherein the molar ratio of AlCl3:C6H5RR'X ranges from 50-250 and the molar ratio of H2O:CnH2n+1X ranges from 4-50.
EFFECT: increased production of butyl rubber with a stable polymer molecular weight using the catalyst complex, which equally increases isobutylene and isoprene conversion in the copolymerization reaction.
