FIELD: synthetic rubber industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the synthetic rubber industry, namely to the production of butyl rubber, which is used in the production of automobile inner tubes and diaphragms for vulcanizer formators in the tire industry. A method for producing butyl rubber is carried out by a method of low-temperature suspension copolymerization of isobutylene with isoprene. The method includes the preparation of a charge from isobutylene, isoprene and return products, copolymerization of the charge in a diluent-methyl chloride medium in several parallel reactors in the presence of a catalyst based on a solution of aluminum chloride in methyl chloride, degassing of rubber, processing of remaining monomers and diluent-methyl chloride, averaging, drying of the finished polymer on extrusion-type machines and its briquetting. The copolymerization process is carried out in the presence of a catalytic complex of the following composition: AICI3⋅H2O⋅ROH, where R=CnH2n+1 at n=1÷5, wherein the molar ratio of AICI3:H2O is in the range of 1-20:1, and the molar ratio of AICI3:ROH is in the range of 100÷300:1.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the daily production of butyl rubber due to an increase in the run time of polymerizers, which allows more hours to work on greater number of polymerizers without compromising the quality of the polymer.
