FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves mounting an engine on one end of a lever element which is fitted with possibility of turning about the horizontal axis, starting the engine and measuring thrust by acting on a measuring transducer through the lever element. The lever element is made in form of a spring-loaded H-beam. The measuring transducer is placed on the other end of the measuring element. The engine is mounted vertically or horizontally. The engine and the measuring transducer are arranged based on the required accuracy of determining thrust. The disclosed method is realised by a device which has a lever element mounted with possibility of turning about the horizontal axis and mounted on one end of the jet engine, and on the other end there another measuring transducer, which is made with allowance for vertically or horizontally mounting the engine, as well as with possibility of changing the position of the engine and the measuring transducer relative the axis of rotation of the beam. The lever element is made in form of a spring-loaded H-beam and the measuring transducer is mounted on the other end of the lever element.
EFFECT: more accurate measurement of thrust and possibility of measuring in a wide range using one pressure sensor.
