FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing type A zeolite which is used as an adsorbent. The disclosed method involves mixing kaolin with binder made from natural aluminium silicate and a blowing agent, moistening the mixture with a solution of plasticiser, moulding granules, drying the granules, thermal activation, hydrothermal crystallisation in an alkaline solution and then drying and calcination. The binder used is kaolin type refractory clay which partially crystallises to the zeolite phase during the process.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the method and widens the range of zeolites with high sorption capacity and mechanical strength.
