FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to decontamination of whatever fluids and can be used for purification and decontamination of swimming pools, natural water reservoirs and in medical sterilisers. Proposed method comprises decontamination of fluid by pulsed electric discharges generated in nozzle-like gap between hollow electrodes immersed in fluid. Prior to feeding primary voltage pulse to electrodes, fluid is moved in the electrode gap to shape submerged fluid jet. Gas pressure above fluid surface, fluid jet speed and main voltage pulse amplitude are selected subjected to certain relationships. Submerged fluid jet is generated by feeding preliminary pulse to electrodes submerged to certain depth while time between preliminary and main voltage pulses are selected subject to certain relationship cited herein. Electrodes have groups of orifices.
EFFECT: accelerated decontamination at electric power savings.
