FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of obtaining sorbents of organic compounds from carbon residue formed in the process of rubber-containing wastes pyrolysis. Method includes activation of carbon residue with water vapour supplied into pyrolysis chamber from the bottom from detached source for not less than 10 min, cooling of carbon residue from temperature 450-500°C to temperaure150-200°C with its additional activation due to periodic supply of water from the top into pyrolysis chamber in several steps in amount not less than 0.12 l per 1.0 kg of residue, with pauses between steps not shorter than 10 minutes and total amount of cooling water at all steps of cooling not exceeding 0.5 l per 1 kg of carbon residue, the process being carried out with periodic change of pressure in the pyrolysis chamber, whose internal space is connected by means of the pipeline with one of force pneumocylinder, whose second cavity is connected with the atmosphere, and whose piston with rod are rigidly connected with rod and piston of force pneumocylinder of two-way action, at 10-30% of the nominal pressure with the period equal 0.5-3.0 munutes.
EFFECT: increase of interaction of carbon residue with water and water vapour.
