FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to inherently radio-opaque, biocompatible, bioresorbable polymer applicable in manufacturing of medical devices (e.g., stents), designed to be placed in a site chosen from vascular, musculoskeletal/orthopaedic, nervous, respiratory, reproductive, urinary, digestive, endocrine, haematopoietic or coating systems. Polymer contains one or more repeating units of formula (I): . Besides the present invention concerns a system for treating a vascular site containing a stent and catheter, having expansion means, and also a method of body interior recure.
EFFECT: stents made of the declared polymer or coated with such polymer, are haemocompatible to prevent acute thromboses, inhibit junction and growth of vascular smooth muscle cells responsible for restenosis distribution, and also maintain long-term mechanical strength and can be used for re-treatment of the same vascular site.
