FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed is an X-ray contrast polymer containing a backbone chain which is a repeating unit of one of five proposed formulae; several crystallising side chains containing 20-30 carbon atoms, and several heavy atoms bonded to that polymer and present in such an amount which is effective for detecting an X-ray contrast polymer, where at least one of the heavy atoms is iodine or bromine. Also proposed are versions of the method of producing the said polymer, medical devices containing the said polymer and a method for partially clogging the body cavity for therapeutic purposes.
EFFECT: obtaining novel X-ray contrast polymers with crystallising side chains, which can be fluid at temperatures above the body temperature of mammals, and solidify when cooled to body temperature.
