FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: specimen is held inside a thermostatic chamber using a connection-sealing device. Temperature of the specimen is controlled in the thermostatic chamber which is divided by the said connection-sealing device into a delivery and a reaction chamber. The specimen is loaded on the side of the delivery chamber using pressure of a liquid or gaseous medium. The specimen is exposed to an aggressive medium and other aggressive effects on the side of the reaction chamber. The time up to destruction of the specimen at given conditions - temperature and mechanical stress in the specimen deformed by the pressure of the medium in the delivery chamber is measured. The obtained data are used to calculate durability of the material of the specimen for the given set of aggressive effects of aggressive media and other aggressive effects. The device has a thermostatic chamber, inert and aggressive media pressure sources, an inert medium pressure sensor, an inert medium flow sensor, a thermostating device a temperature sensor, a unit for inlet, outlet and analysis of aggressive media, an aggressive medium source, a source of other aggressive effects, sensors of intensity of other aggressive effects, a control unit for sources of other aggressive effects, a unit for recording, analysing and controlling operation of the device which is connected to inert medium pressure sources, with inert medium flow and pressure sensors, with sensors which detect intensity of aggressive effects, with the control unit for sources of other aggressive effects, with the temperature sensor in the thermostatic chamber, with the thermostating device of any known type, with the device for inlet and outlet of aggressive medium.
