FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, namely to composite braking clamps. Braking clamp is made from friction material with metal substrate or without it. Braking clamp has friction surface to be pressed against wheel rim and opposite rear surface. In compliance with the first version, layer of material reinforced by fiber is arranged along a part of lateral surface. In compliance with the second version, braking clamp comprises metal insert with surfaces arranged on braking clamp friction surface. Said insert runs radially from said friction surface while layer of material reinforced by fiber is located along a part of lateral surface.
EFFECT: reduced formation and propagation of cracks thanks to reinforcement of lateral layers.
