FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of generating travelling wave for vehicle translation. Proposed method consists in generation of travelling wave exploiting directed sign-alternating harmonic forces acting in wave lengthwise direction and shafted in phase and space. At least two pairs of points to apply forces are formed between inner sections of base surface and arranged at the distance of L between themselves. Phase shift angle for said harmonic forces is taken to equal φi = 180°×L(l-i)/τ, where L=τ/n; φi = V/2f is pole pitch, that is, distance between said two points of force application with phase shift angle φ 180°; f is frequency of harmonic force oscillation; i is serial number of the force application point count down along wave motion direction; n is the number of force application forces; V is preset wave speed.

EFFECT: increased propulsion, higher drive efficiency and reliability, simple kinematic transmission.
