FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: solid-propellant rocket engine comprises housing with bottoms, change attached to the housing and having central bore, and crosswise inclined slot dividing said charge into two parts. Outer surface of the slot adjoining the housing is locked by cup made up of two parts jointed to the housing along one of diametres and adjoining each other by tips bent towards the slot and entering slot top. Slot burning surface is formed by smaller base and side surface of n-face truncated pyramid and surface of truncated cone with its smaller diametre limited by charge central bore diametre and its larger diametre limited by outer radius of slot unlocking. Pyramid edge and truncated cone generatrix are spaced apart by channels that pass along charge central bore into slot expanding part. Note here that length of every channel is limited by pyramid edge length to allow minimum tolerable slot opening.
EFFECT: higher engine efficiency and ease of charge fabrication.
