FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device which is in form of a flow-measuring probe (1) has: a propeller (2) which is connected to a modulator (3), a fibre-optic system (4) for directing a beam IB from a laser source (41) to the modulator and for receiving the modulated return beam RB from the modulator and directing it to a detector (42) for conversion to an electrical signal. The modulator (3) has a coder (30) with at least a first corner sector, a second corner sector and a third corner sector, each having a defined attenuation coefficient such that the modulated signal contains at least a first part (64), a second part (65) and a third part (66) during each complete rotation of the coder. The device (1) also has an electronic circuit (5) with a microprocessor (6) for determining the flow speed and direction FF of the fluid based on at least the first (64), second (65) and third (66) parts of the modulated signal.
EFFECT: invention increases measurement accuracy at high pressure and high temperature and the device is compact.
