METHOD FOR MAINTAINING VINES Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A01G17/00 

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to agriculture, namely to vine growing. Vines are planted in rows in method. Two vertical boles are created on each vine. On each bole in upper part two arms are formed, with separate arrangement of each of them on both sides from boles on two parallel wires of lower tier of trellis. Canes are arranged on cordon arms. Annual increment of sprouts is arranged between double wires of the second tier of trellis with their further free hanging. At the same time vines are planted according to pattern of 3.0…3.5 m between rows and 6.0…7.0 m between vines in a row. Single-tier vertical trellis is arranged with arrangement of trellis wire at height of 1.4…1.5 m from soil surface. Trellis pillars are installed at the distance of 1.50…1.75 m on both sides from the basis of each vine. At the end of the second vegetation, two inclined boles are formed on each vine as arranged on leashes made of trellis wire, lower ends of which are fixed near vine base, upper ones - to intermediate pillars at height of trellis wire. At the end of the third vegetation in upper part of each bole two arms are created, fixed to trellis wire in different sides from boles until they close with neighboring arms. In process of cutting, two-three eye twigs are left on cordon arms, and annual one-year increment of sprouts is freely arranged on both sides of vineyard row.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce amount of plant material for making a vineyard, to reduce labour costs for arrangement of trellis and to increase profitability of grape production.
