FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: procedure is designed for treatment of Pilger rollers on metal working machine with computer control. It consists in processed part turning and milling. A cutter and milling cutter are used as cutting tools. A cutting tool with round cutting plates is used to simplify the design of the machine and to upgrade quality of treatment. Also rotating symmetrical sections of the part shape are processed with cutting, while non-central sections of the shape are processed with milling. The distinguished features of the metal-working machine are like follows. A tool carriage radially advanced to a processed part and coaxially transferred with the processed part along a linear guide has a driven disk mill equipped with circular plates arranged along its perimetre. The tool carriage with a cutter radially advanced to the rotating processed part and equipped with the circular plate is arranged on the linear guide.

EFFECT: simplification of machine design and upgraded quality of cutting tool of cutter and mill.
