FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of pipes, in particular - to methods for removal of inner flash ring formed during fabrication of drill pipes with joints weld-connected. One performs longitudinal relocation of the cutter tool along the tube axis from its butt end till the tool touches the front edge with the upper part of the flash ring that becomes cut off. Then one cuts off the diametrically opposed lower part of the flash ring. Without discontinuation of the cutter tool motion one simultaneously cuts off the remaining side parts of the flash ring till their complete separation from the pipe body with each subsequent cutting-off pass occurs after completion of the previous one.
EFFECT: reduction of wear and enhanced durability of the tool as well as flash ring removal operation facilitation.
