FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power plants of spacecraft, particularly, to spacecraft control with the help of solar sail (SS). Proposed method consists in unlapping SS in the form of light-reflecting band or thread 3. SS is oriented with respect to light flux and SS thrust is controlled by winding said threads 3 of rolls mounted on spacecraft 1, or unwinding them therefrom. Note here that SS shape and position are regulated by gravitation-gradient forces acting of bans or thread 3, as well as centrifugal or Carioles forces of inertia (in orbital rotary system of coordinates). Additionally, SS surface orientation can be adjusted via selection of ratio between end load 6 and spacecraft weight.
EFFECT: reduced weight of SS, higher reliability of SS unlapping and possibility to control light-reflecting surface area.
