FIELD: large-sized structures deployed in orbit by centrifugal forces.
SUBSTANCE: proposed structure has rotatable case 2 and lobes 6 symmetrically secured case 2 by means of many attachments. Provision is made for control unit 9 for deflection of lobes through desired angles relative to case. Lobes 6 form sail 4, solar battery or another flexible structure. Each lobe has areas symmetrical to center line running radially from center of case 2 on which membranes are tightened. Adjacent membranes are connected discretely by means of connecting tapes which decrease effect of bending deformation at deployment of structure. Centrifugal deployment forces act radially and have components facilitating transversal deployment and straightening of membrane surface.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of shape forming and stability of configuration.
