FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method can be used in treating waste water in mining and concentrating industry. Lime milk, iron sulphate and zeolite are added to the water to undergo treatment. Zeolite is added first and lime milk and iron sulphate are then added after mixing the zeolite with the water. Natural zeolite ground to particles not larger than 0.3 mm is used. Water is then successively settled, aerated, treated with barrier charge pulses with power consumption of not less than 50 W.h/m3 of water and then filtered.

EFFECT: method provides high degree of purity of waste water from a large number of different heavy metals, including uranium, lead and molybdenum.
