FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: controlled linear section of pipeline is broken into two neighbouring segments and with the help of pressure sensors arranged at the ends of each one, pressure losses for friction are measured (hydraulic slopes of each segment), which are used to detect mass flow rates of liquid at each segment G1-2(i1-2),G2-3(i2-3), and periodical control of mass flow rates unbalance value is carried out in expression G1-2(i1-2) - G2-3(i2-3) = |εth.|, where εth. - threshold value of liquid flow rates unbalance, detected by parametres of pumping in regular mode (prior to leakage), and mass flow rates are detected using formulas - for area of smooth friction; - for area of mixed friction. EFFECT: increased efficiency of method by simplified detection of leak point with no information in liquid flow rate at determined section.
