FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: enclosed electric heating element is fitted into radiator with radiator lower surface thrusting against storage battery case bottom, while unit of unlike elements rests on grid from polymer material. Note here that heating element terminals are connected to terminals of storage battery terminals via contacts of thermal relay arranged inside storage battery under its cover, heating element power making 8-10% of rated storage battery capacity (for 5-hour discharge current). In this case heating element cuts in automatically at lower inner temperatures of electrolyte (below -10°C) and cuts automatically in at 0°C, which allows an intensive charge reaction up to ambient temperatures of -50°C.
EFFECT: higher storage battery capacity, longer life.
