FIELD: electrical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electrical industry and can be used in the manufacture of closed (sealed) lead-acid batteries (LAB) with a control valve. In the method of manufacturing a closed lead-acid storage battery with a control valve and a sulfuric acid electrolyte immobilized in a glass-matrix separator using an additive to the electrolyte benzyl benzoate in an amount of 0.3 - 0.8% of the electrolyte mass into a mixer for preparing a negative paste together with the supply of sulfuric acid electrolyte with a density 1.39 - 1.42 g/cm3 an aqueous suspension of benzyl benzoate is introduced, the content of which is 0.1 - 0.2% of the mass of lead powder, and the electrolyte prepared for battery formation with a density of 1.21 - 1.23 g/cm3 contains water suspension of benzyl benzoate in the amount of 0.2 - 0.5% of the calculated mass of the electrolyte.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of using benzyl benzoate additive, which is practically insoluble in liquid electrolyte, reducing the cost of its use, increasing the LAB life cycle.
