FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method involves a visual inspection of trees and stumps in the subcompartment or plot, selection of the basic reference points for the geodetic measurements of the locations of trees and stumps by their characteristic locations around the subcompartment or plot using satellite-guided stations. Before logging the location of the basic reference points are chosen between growing trees, and after the logging stumps are taken as the basic reference points of the location. Above the base set reference points the satellite-guided stations are placed for determining the basic control points. During the measurement the results are recorded on the location of the basic reference points in the log of coordinates. The second log contains the results of measurements of directions and distances from the basic reference points to the accountable trees and stumps, obtained by laser range finder with compass. The third log contains the results of measurements of taxation characteristics of accountable trees and stumps. After processing the tabular data from all these three logs electronic maps and geographic information systems for each sector or plot are built. On the electronic map the boundaries of forest belts are marked, at least for one test area with a minimum width of 20 m from the edge of the forest road to the subcompartment or plot, and then transfer them by geodetic methods to the nature.

EFFECT: method provides more accurate measurements of the spatial locations left after the thinning and cutting-through the trees and stumps in the plot before the trial site with forest belts for building thematic forest map of the entire subcompartment or plot.
