FIELD: transport, package.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises mounting variable-height supporting struts to preset height, pumping oil from reservoir and moving said struts in contact with reservoir bottom. After floating cover reaches preset height inside reservoir in pumping oil therefrom, pumping is stopped, each supporting strut is individually lowered to get in contact with reservoir bottom and locked to prevent vertical displacement relative to floating cover. Note that, after said locking of all supporting struts, oil pumping from reservoir is resumed.
EFFECT: new method of locking reservoir floating cover to rule out chances of damaging cover and reservoir bottom.
