FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: single-phase converter of AC into DC may find application for conversion of AC into DC and may be used in DC sources with controlled voltage. Proposed converter comprises seven controlled valves and a single-phase transformer with primary winding and group of secondary windings that consists of three galvanically isolated parts, besides numbers of turns in all parts of group of secondary windings are equal. At the same time the first and second parts of secondary windings group are connected in accord, and tap is provided from the point of its connection, two three-valve cells are formed from six valves, and each cell consists of three serially accordingly connected valves. Besides identical extreme electrodes of cell valves are connected to each other, producing output leads of device, end and beginning of the secondary winding consisting of the first and second parts of secondary windings group are connected to one pair of cell valves connection points that are equidistant from output leads of device, and end and beginning of the third part of secondary windings group are connected to the second pair of cell valves connection points that are equidistant from output leads of device, as antiphased to connection of winding made of two parts. At the same time free valve with its one electrode is connected to point of connection of two parts of secondary windings group, and by the second electrode - to nearest point of connection of extreme valves of valve cells, besides this electrode is identical to electrodes connected in this point.
