TWENTY FOUR-PHASE CONVERTER OF THREE-PHASE-VOLTAGE-TO-CONSTANT VOLTAGE Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC H02M7/162

Abstract RU 2405240 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed converter serves to supply DC consumers that demand high quality conversion at various levels of rectified voltage. Proposed converter (dwg. 1) comprises fours symmetric three-phase power supplies with their like voltages are phase shifter through 15 electrical degrees, and 5 gate groups arranged in series. Extreme groups include 3 gates connected in anode and cathode gate stars with their common points making the device output terminals. The other three groups make six-gate rings with three pairs of diametrically opposite points of connection between gate like electrodes. Extreme gate groups are connected with adjacent groups at three points each formed by free electrode of the anode (cathode) gate star and free point of connection between electrodes of the gates in adjacent gate ring formed by electrodes of the other range. Adjacent gate rings are connected at three points each formed by free pair of the point of connection between electrodes in adjacent ring gates. Note here that said assemblies have like electrodes in one adjacent ring gates feature while other ring gate electrodes are unlike. Note also one of the phases of three-phase power supplies is connected to each connection point of adjacent gate groups. Note that each face of whatever power supply is connected via ting gates solely with the phases of adjacent power supplies with phase shifts of electric degrees relative to this phase. Besides converter incorporates 12 additional gates. Six-gate ring gates are controlled while the other ones are uncontrolled. Six additional gates are used to form anode and cathode three-gate stars with common connection points between like electrodes and appropriate output terminals of the device. Each of three free gate electrodes in every said star is connected to one phase of three-phase power supply adjacent to that whereto the like three-gate star is connected. Three additional gates have their anodes connected to the phases of one extreme three-phase power supply whereto anode gate star is connected. Note here that free anodes of said gates are connected to phases of one intermediate three-phase power supply that are shifted (lagging) by electric degrees from phases of power supply whereto they connected by anodes, while three other additional gates have their cathodes with phases of the other extreme three-phase power supply whereto cathode gate star is connected. Note also that free anodes of said gates are connected with phases of the other intermediate three-phase power supply that are shifted (advanced) by electric degrees from phases of power supply whereto they connected by cathodes.

EFFECT: expanded operating performances.
