METHOD FOR ASSESSMENT OF MANIFESTATION DEGREE OF BIOMECHANICAL DISTURBANCES IN CERVICAL SPINE Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B5/488

Abstract RU 2400134 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, particularly diagnostics. The method involves electric myographic examination. It involves the two-phase recording of electric activity of cervical muscles from both sides. During the first phase, a patient is in a rest condition. The second phase implies a functional stress testing. During the testing, the patient without changing the body and head positions tries to extend the cervical spine with overcoming the strength of 7-8 kg. The electric myogram shows the curve amplitude, turn frequency and amplitude. The presented amplitude parametres on the involved and opposite sides are compared to derive their relation that shows inter-plane amplitude asymmetry. In case of amplitude increasing in the first phase to 10-15 mcV in the disturbed side and to 7-10 mcV - in the opposite side, turn frequency 20-30 per a second and unit respectively, inter-plane asymmetry 50-70% and amplitude increasing in the second phase to 30-40 mcV in the disturbed side and to 20-25 mcV in the opposite side, turn frequency more than 60 per a second and more than 30 per a second respectively, inter-plane asymmetry no more than 50-70%, manifestation of biomechanical disturbances is estimated as mild. In case of amplitude increasing in the first phase to 15-20 mcV in the disturbed side and more than 10-15 mcV in the opposite side, turn frequency 50-70 and 30-40 per a second respectively, inter-plane asymmetry 50-70% and amplitude increasing in the second phase to 40-60 mcV in the disturbed side and no more than 30-35 mcV on the opposite side, turn frequency 80-120 and 50-70 per a second respectively, inter-plane asymmetry no more than 50-70%, manifestation of biomechanical disturbances is considered to be moderate. In case of amplitude increasing in the first phase more than 25 mcV in the disturbed side and more than 20 mcV in the opposite side, turn frequency more than 70 per a second and more than 40 per a second respectively, inter-plane asymmetry no more than 25-30%, and amplitude increasing in the second phase more than 60 mcV in the disturbed side and more than 35 mcV in the opposite side, turn frequency more than 150 per a second and more than 100 per a second respectively, size inter-plane asymmetry no more than 25-30%, manifestation of biomechanical disturbances are estimated as severe.

EFFECT: method provides more accurate assessment of biomechanical disturbances in the cervical muscles due to the degree assessment ensured.
