FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technological processes of chemical treatment of surfaces, particularly to design of agents and methods of modifying surfaces of natural and artificial solid bodies. The invention can be used in production of filter materials. The filter material contains a porous base with highly developed specific surface area and porosity, a selective layer made from polyvinyl alcohol or acrylamide polymer whose entire volume contains nanostructured silver particles obtained from a micellar solution, thereby forming an additional discrete layer with the following ratio of components in wt %: polyvinyl alcohol or acrylamide polymer 0.01-1.00, nanostructured silver particles 99.99-99.00. The method of obtaining material which is modified by silver nanoparticles involves preparation of a modifying solution of silver nanoparticles, holding the material in this solution and washing the material with distilled water.

EFFECT: more efficient integrated treatment of liquid and gaseous substances from toxic impurities and micro-biological contaminants, broader functional capabilities of filter material, reduced expenses, high quality of modified filter material.
