SUBSTANCE: mandrel, in particular - for fixation of instruments for boring, turning, milling, unfolding and grinding that contains a basic part containing a tail-piece for connection to the machine tool, a socket, especially - that for mounting with tension or heating, with a mortise intended for tool fixation and a middle part positioned between the tail-piece and the socket and containing a device providing for generation of tension which (at least during the mandrel operation) applies a force having a component acting in the longitudinal direction. For improved efficiency of vibration quenching the tension generating device contains one or several support surface parts (at least on one side relative to the mandrel longitudinal axis) which interact with one or several parts of the mandrel surfaces conjugated with them during radial tensions overlay. The support surface parts form a moving contact with parts of the conjugated surfaces.
