FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises heating of continuously rolled billet, first squeezing of said billet over thickness, cooling-down of produced intermediate biller in air, finish squeezing at reversing plate mill with 3-12% strain in every run till preset thickness of finished strip, as well as controlled accelerated cooling of produced cooling of the strip via feeding water onto face surfaces and following decelerated natural cooling in air after stacking finished strips. Reduced processing cycle and higher mechanical properties result from step-by-step forge broaching over billet thickness at the press is performed in at least two runs in lateral direction, thickness making 2.5…6 thickness of finished strip and that of finished strip. Cooling-down is performed in stacking of billets. Billet stack consists of at least three pieces and is transferred into heating furnace to perform repeated heating to at least 850°C. Now, finish rolling is performed with accelerated cooling at 350…600°C.
EFFECT: higher quality of strip and efficiency of reversing mill.
