SUBSTANCE: device for controlling relative moisture in an environment has a water vapour-permeable container in form of a sachet consisting of micro-perforated polyester/paper/polyethylene material and a solidified moisturiser compound in the container. The solidified moisturiser compound contains a moisturiser salt, water and a carrier. The preferred moisturiser salts are CaCl₂, K₂CO₃, LiCl₂, NaCl, K₂SO₄ and their combinations. The preferred carrier is selected from a group consisting of cellulose, silica gel, clay, carbohydrate or protein gelling agent, hydrocolloid gum and hydrophilic polymers.
