FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: pressure measurement device with built-in angular position sensor has an angular position sensor on a horizontal plate inside a housing and series-connected pressure sensor and a sensor signal converter which is connected to the input of a processing unit having memory, where the output of the processing unit is connected to a display device. The processing unit includes a pressure computing device and a device for calculating corrections to the angular position of the pressure measurement device, both having memory elements and connected through outputs to an adder which is connected by the output to a display. The angular position sensor used is an angular accelerometre which is connected in series through the analogue-to-digital converter of the accelerometre with possibility of calculating corrections to the angular position of the pressure measurement device. The analogue-to-digital converter of the pressure sensor signal is also connected to the pressure computing device. The method of preparing the pressure measurement device for operation involves predetermination of the likely measurement error, recording the pressure value at the angular position using the display. Pressure is measured while making necessary corrections to the quantity which is measured and converted to the necessary type of value depending on the angular position. When determining likely measurement errors, the sensor is pre-characterised and calibration factors at normal climatic conditions and atmospheric pressure are recorded. During calibration of the angular position of the device, a defined number of angular positions is given and the pressure value Pref and the measured pressure value Pmeas are recorded in each angular position. The values are compared and the measurement error is found as a pressure difference. Pressure correction factors are calculated depending on the angular position and recorded and during next measurements, corrections are made to the measured pressure values taking into account the pressure correction factors.
EFFECT: broader operational capabilities of measurement apparatus and more accurate measurement.
