FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ultrasonic engineering. Transformers serve to transmit power of elastic oscillations at ultrasonic frequency from electroacoustic transducers to a load which carries out useful work. The transformers can be used not only for transmitting oscillations with increase in their intensity, but for summation of work of several synchronised electroacoustic transducers i.e. integration of their power. The disclosed acoustic waveguide transformer has a lateral surface formed by turning a smooth monotonous curve about an axis which is normal to the plane of its butt-end with smaller surface area and to the intersected plane face with larger surface area which also has several faces. These faces are meant for mounting vibration sources which are placed symmetrically and at an angle to the axis of the transformer.
EFFECT: transformer is universal with respect to the type of electroacoustic transducers (piezoelectric, magnetostrictive) used with it, has high value of transformation ratio and quality factor which is fully determines its efficiency and service life.
