FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: gas-discharge lamp (1, 40, 42), in particular a xenon or mercury gas lamp (1, 40, 42), its bulb (2) having two diametrally opposed mouths (6, 8) each containing an electrode (18, 20) with an electrode holder (22, 24) and an electrode head (26, 28), accordingly. The electrode holders (22, 24) are hermetically sealed with the help of soldering (14). The mouths (6, 8) of the bulb (2) has at least two support projections (32) for support of the electrodes (18, 20) that at least partially adjoin the electrode holders (22, 24). The support projections (32) are formed due to sections (36) of the wall of the bulb (2) mouths (6, 8) (2) that are contoured inwards in the direction of the electrode holders (22, 24) and adjacent to the support surfaces (34).
EFFECT: production costs reduction, automation simplification, increased strength and manufacture process simplification.
