GAS-DISCHARGE PULSE OPTICAL SOURCE Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC H01S3/03

Abstract RU 2438220 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: source includes two coaxially located dielectric tubes, return current lead and circular electrode assemblies. One of the tubes is made from optically transparent material; reflecting coating is applied to the other one. Electrode assemblies have cylindrical electrode rings and tips made from heat-resistant metal with spherical surface on the ends. Rings are provided with three threaded holes with axes located from external ends of electrode rings at the distance not less than radii of threaded holes. Electrode assemblies are installed on opposite ends of tubes so that they protrude by not less than the diameter of threaded holes from edges of external tube. Gaps between electrode rings and ends of tubes have the thickness at least 3 mm, are filled with layers of heat-resistant sealants and protected with metal foils in the sides facing the discharge cavity. The layers adjacent to the foils are made from more liquid and elastic sealant, and the next layers are made from denser and stronger sealants. On ends of the source, inside the inner tube there installed is input and output assemblies; at that, behind sealant layers there placed in gaps are layers of nanopowder from silicon oxide, on which protective layers from heat-resistant material are applied. On ends of external tube there arranged are flanges from dielectric material with supply nozzles of working inert gas to the gaps. Between ends of internal tubes and electrode rings, behind threaded holes on them, closer to their edges there placed into the gaps are rings from heat-resistant dielectric.

EFFECT: enlarging working temperature range of the source at increased service life at one filling with working gas.
