FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorters that grade materials to their optical properties, for example their colour, and can be used to grade grain and reject foreign inclusions therein. Grading is effected with the help of illumination appliances, a line of LEDs, sensors, video cameras on linear matrix, and background made up of dispersing plates and set of LEDs. Light fluxes of the latter are controlled independent of each other and illumination appliance.
EFFECT: optimum illumination in wide spectral range and possibility to use monochrome video camera to produce and process data.
