FIELD: various technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of coloured material and concerns optical separator. Separator includes a housing with a device for feeding multi-coloured material, a pitched glass, illuminators, an optical sensor, behind which there is a sorting system equipped with a row of blowing nozzles, which is connected to a control unit of the separator operation. Multi-coloured material supply device is equipped with a vibration tray. Optical sensor is made in the form of an optical unit equipped with a sealed housing, into which compressed air is supplied. As illuminators, the separator is equipped with lamps of front and background illumination. Inside the housing of the optical unit there is a system for detecting the shape, colour, size and geometric centre of mass of the multi-coloured material, which is connected to the control unit. Detection system is equipped with four matrix high-speed cameras with global shutter, separator operation control unit is supplemented with a hardware interface module for connecting matrix high-speed cameras of the detection system, as well as a computer with software installed on it, which is connected to the nozzle control microcontroller.

EFFECT: high quality of sorting and rejection of multi-coloured material.
