FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: electrolytic cell comprises a body, a cathode, an anode with a grid-like working surface, distributors, propagating ribs and hydrodynamic partitions in the form of titanium plates inclined in pairs to the propagating ribs and located on the side opposite to the mercury cathode. The grid is formed of rod-shaped or laminated elements, and the hydrodynamic partitions represent either the titanium plates with a corrugated surface, and the corrugations have a semicircular profile of uniform or variable section, or the titanium plates in the form of plates longitudinally curved in the middle along the full length at an angle of curvature 130°-150°, or the titanium plates with triangle cross walls arranged on the titanium plate on the side directed towards the cathode.
EFFECT: cell voltage reduction.
