FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves loading an article used as an anode in an electrochemical polishing solution which contains orthophosphoric acid and acetic acid, installation of a stainless steel cathode and carrying out electrochemical polishing. Electrochemical polishing is carried out at current density of 15-25 A/dm2 and voltage of 3-7 V for 10-180 s. The electrochemical polishing solution also contains ethanol with the following ratio of components, wt %: orthophosphoric acid 35-45, acetic acid 2-10, ethanol - the rest.
EFFECT: higher cleanliness grade of the surface of articles made from magnesium alloys and exclusion of toxic components.
