FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: there is performed air intake to cylinder, air compression in cylinder, supply of liquid fuel under pressure to the cylinder space between reservoir and electrode, action of electric high voltage discharge to fuel volume so that working mixture of fuel and air is formed and ignited at movement of piston to lower dead point. Supply of liquid fuel under pressure to cylinder space between reservoir and electrode is combined with addition of volatile easy-ionisable matter, for example ethanol in quantity of 5-20% of total liquid fuel volume.
EFFECT: increasing thermal efficiency coefficient and decreasing fuel flow rate.
