FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. Method includes feeding into the cylinder a further portion of liquid fuel that ignites the main working mixture, heated by compression of the main working mixture of air and gas. As an additional portion of liquid fuel, water subjected to an electro-hydraulic discharge is used. In this case, the ionized liquid under the action of the electrohydraulic discharge is decomposed into two components: hydrogen and oxygen, which ignite, forming a flame front, igniting the main working mixture.
EFFECT: thermal efficiency is increased, the content of harmful impurities in the exhaust gases is reduced, and the economy of a gas-diesel internal combustion engine increases that implements the proposed method.
